me n kiat read the bk liaoz so throughout the show we were damn bored, keep turning to each other and commenting wat a sianz show
in fact, we juz feel like turning behind and tell keeyang him all the spoilers,, etc whu the real teacher wat gona happen next...
obviously the director didn't follow the bk all the way
and he was probably trying to pacify the christian audenice when he has tom hanks muttering something bout asserting his faith
wat a relief when the show was over
better off reading the bk

Was it that bad? For myself, I can't stand reading fiction so my best way to knwo about the story would be to watch the movie and to watch the documentaries on it. Likewise for some movies, such as Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, the books being better in detail is somewhat inevitable. I have to agree with you that the director might have changed the plot to appease the audience. However, it is noteworthy that the even the changed plot has such a large number of Catholic oppostion. Nayway, I haven't caught the film yet. The cinemas are always so full of people eager to watch it.
